Pat Burns has been in the factoring industry since the early 70’s. In 1979 she went back to school at night to complete her education and find another career. She was lured back by a financial backer and started her first factoring firm in 1983. In 1994 she successfully bought out her partnership interest and formed Primary Funding Corporation.

Today Pat is known in the San Diego community as the go to person for factoring. Her footprint goes beyond the San Diego region and is known nationally in her industry. She is frequently quoted and asked to write articles for industry publications such as The Secured Lender and the ABL Journal. She is an acknowledged expert in her field.

Pat over the years has been very active in her industry and community. She has taken a backseat these past few years to enjoy her youngest daughter as she prepares to leave for college. Pat’s industry affiliations include the Commercial Finance Association, International Factoring Association and the American Factoring Association. Her local affiliations include Corporate Finance Council, Association for Corporate Growth, Risk Management Association, STAR Network and Connect. She is also committed to Social Venture Partners, ElderHelp, La Cuna, and MOPA.
