Shannon McCrary

Shannon McCrary is a San Diego native with a background in nonprofit fundraising. In Shannon’s words, ” I discovered an unexplored opportunity right in my own hometown to highlight social good leaders and nonprofits with unique, tight missions. This goes hand in hand with my desire to create and foster lasting relationships in business, all while giving back. Together, with others that share the same heart to see San Diego become the amazing entrepreneurial hub it’s been forecasted to become, we can make the eighth largest city in the United States to be known as America’s Kindest City. Shannon also is the Founder & Executive Director of Fighting Chance Medical (FCM), a nonprofit organization created to assist the medically underserved in East Africa through quality patient care and education with a long-term sustainability approach.

Shannon could probably trace back to elementary school days, her instinct to step towards a situation that clearly needed help. This instinct has developed over the years, and she has directly experienced the empowerment from people who have stepped in to help her on the road to personal and professional development. Creating and fostering relationships in business -along with giving back- are not only important to Shannon, they are her lifeblood.

Her professional value boils down to the following:

1. Big ideas that create solutions: Conception- development- execution.
2. Fundraising for nonprofits: Setting goals- determination of effective tools- execution.
3. Running towards fires: If I can’t directly help, I’ll find the person or the answer that can.
